I think I want one of these video cameras. I’ve been considering a small camera that I can take were ever I go. When I travel I carry my laptop, phone, digital camera and maybe this video camera. All this would fit in my laptop bag just perfectly. I like to travel light. The camera is HD, 720i just what I’ve been looking for. I don’t think I’d use this as anything but a fun point and shoot but isn’t that its purpose. But it has gotten some good reviews. I wouldn’t ever think about making any of my training videos with this camera. I’ll review it when and if I purchase one. Here’s the link to it.

Modesto Man tries to cut off arm at Denny’s

I drive by this Denny’s all the time and it’s known for the tweekers that visit it. Add this to the list of odd and weird things that give the city of Modesto a bad name. I wonder how far he would have gotten with a butter knife.

Man tries to cut off arm inside Modesto restaurant
A 33-year-old man who tried cutting off his arm inside a busy Denny’s restaurant because he believed it would save his life was arrested Friday night, according to Modesto police.

According to Sgt. Brian Findlen, Michael Lasiter of Modesto had been injecting cocaine in a nearby motel when he thought he had injected air into his vein, which can lead to death.

Findlen said the man believed that if he cut off his arm, he could save himself from dying.

Lasiter entered the restaurant at 1525 McHenry Ave. about 10:15 p.m. and grabbed a butter knife off a customer’s table and began stabbing himself in the right arm near the biceps. When that didn’t work, he ran into the kitchen and got a butcher knife and started “digging the knife into his arm,” Findlen said.

Police arrived almost immediately and isolated the man. A few minutes later, they used a Taser to subdue him.

“He wouldn’t obey a substantial number of commands and continued to stab himself,” Findlen said. “There were some tense moments, but a lot of patrons didn’t know what was going on.”

Lasiter was arrested and taken to a Modesto hospital to treat severe cuts to his arm.

Findlen said he had “never seen anything like that before” in his 11 years in law enforcement.

He said the restaurant closed for the evening to clean up.

CINCINNATI, Aug. 30 (UPI) — Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson has legally changed his name to “Chad Javon Ocho Cinco.”
The flamboyant and outspoken Miami native had initially changed his name to Ocho Cinco — a reference to his jersey number in Spanish — during warm-ups before a game against Atlanta in 2006. But quarterback Carson Palmer ripped off the nameplate to reveal C. Johnson because the name change was a violation of NFL uniform rules.
After that incident, Johnson reportedly received a $5,000 fine.
A court document in Broward County (Fla.) says the name change won’t “invade the property rights of others, whether partnership, patent, good will, privacy, trademark, or otherwise.”
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in an e-mail the league is looking into the move.
“It’s something I don’t think anyone has ever done before,” he said on the Bengals’ Web site.
Johnson, a premier receiver and eight-year veteran, has scored 49 touchdowns on 559 career receptions for 8,365 yards.

Ugh!!! I was hacked!

As you might have noticed I have started a new blog. It’s the same blog as before but without two years of readable archives. Two years of blogging have been corrupted. I have backups of all my blogs and if I can figure out how to restore them I’ll do it. Restoring PHP and SQL is not my expertise and I’m tired of working on it. So for the sake of continuing my blog I decided to start from scratch. I spent two weeks trying to figure it out and finding out what happened. According to what I’ve discovered was that a spam attack caused my blog to unravel. Spam attached it’s self too all my posts causing a visible error. When I tried to remove the spam and delete all the caught spam (through the spam filter) the problem became worse. So I gave up today and decided to start fresh.

I couple of things I found out through this adventure. Periodically manually backup don’t trust your host backup to work. I was unable to restore from the Yahoo’s backup. I also learned that Yahoo SQL and PHP experts will attempt to help to the best of their ability. Yahoo’s business accounts service reps did a good job trying to help me out. They never gave up trying to resolve my problems. I gave up and had them pull the plug!

So here I am starting over again. Let’s hope I can get another two years uneventful posting.
